New Arrival in Hunedoara
Corvinul Hunedoara has bolstered their attacking options with the signing of Peruvian striker Renato Espinosa, who joined the Romanian Liga 1 side on Thursday to begin preseason training. The 27-year-old forward, who most recently played for Unirea Slobozia, arrived directly at the club’s training ground and immediately integrated into the squad’s preparations for the upcoming campaign.
Espinosa, who scored 9 goals in 22 appearances for Unirea Slobozia last season, had attracted interest from several other Romanian clubs including FC Arges and Petrolul Ploiesti. However, the Peruvian international chose Corvinul’s project, viewing it as the best platform for his development in Romanian football.
Career Journey
The striker began his professional career at Universidad San Martin in Peru before moving on to Ayacucho FC, Club Sporting Cristal, UTC, and Alianza Universidad. His move to Europe came when he joined Unirea Slobozia, where he quickly adapted to the Romanian style of play.
Valued at around 200,000 euros by Transfermarkt, Espinosa brings a blend of physical presence and technical ability that Corvinul manager Florin Maxim believes will strengthen his squad significantly.
Preseason Plans
Corvinul’s preseason preparations will continue locally until June 21, when the entire delegation will travel to Slovenia for a ten-day training camp in the mountain resort of Rogla. The team is scheduled to play at least three friendly matches during their stay, though opponents and schedules are yet to be confirmed.
Club officials have indicated that several more important transfers are in the pipeline. However, they stressed that any additional signings must be financially sustainable, with the club maintaining a measured approach to squad building.
Home Stadium and Ticketing
For the new Liga 1 season, Corvinul will play their home matches in Arad rather than Hunedoara. The club has launched season ticket sales with prices set at 400 lei for end sections, 500 lei for stand two, and 700 lei for stand one. Returning season ticket holders from the previous campaign will receive a 50 percent discount. Individual matchday tickets will be priced at 50, 70, and 90 lei depending on the category.
With Espinosa now in the fold and more arrivals expected, Corvinul Hunedoara is shaping up for an ambitious campaign as they look to establish themselves in Romania’s top division.
