Denis Harut Joins FC Voluntari: Experienced Defender Strengthens Romanian Superliga Side

New Signing in Ilfov

FC Voluntari have strengthened their defensive options with the signing of central defender Denis Harut on a free transfer. The 27-year-old arrives from Sepsi Sfantu Gheorghe and will remain in the Romanian Superliga for the upcoming season.

Harut, who captained Sepsi OSK last season, brings significant experience to the Voluntari backline. The club from Ilfov announced the transfer through their official channels, welcoming the defender with a message wishing him success in his new colours.

Last Season’s Performance

Harut made 19 appearances for Sepsi in the previous campaign, scoring five goals from defence. According to Transfermarkt, the stopper is valued at 700,000 euros, reflecting his consistent performances in the top division.

His last competitive match came on May 12 against his new team. On that occasion, FC Voluntari defeated Sepsi on home soil. Harut’s contract with the Covasna-based club was due to expire at the end of this month, making him available on a free transfer.

Career Background

Throughout his career, Harut has played for FC Botosani, Politehnica Iasi, and Dinamo Bucharest before joining Sepsi. His experience across multiple Romanian clubs means he knows the Superliga inside out, which will help him integrate quickly at Voluntari.

At FC Voluntari, Harut will compete for a starting position with Radu Crisan (30), Andrei Pitian (30), Steven N’Guessan (25), and Marian Bota. The competition for places should bring out the best in a defence that will need to be solid if Voluntari are to improve on their previous season’s performance.

Strategic Signing

For FC Voluntari, signing a player of Harut’s calibre on a free transfer represents smart business. The defender’s leadership qualities, having served as captain at Sepsi, add an extra dimension to the squad. His ability to score from defence is also a valuable asset.

With the new Superliga season approaching, Voluntari fans will hope that Harut’s arrival signals the beginning of a competitive campaign for the Ilfov-based club.
