Atletico’s response also took aim at a long-standing grievance between the two clubs — the alleged poaching of youth players. “Taking advantage of the good relations with your new president, let’s see if you stop ‘stealing’ players from our academy,” the club added, before delivering a final sarcastic “Thank you very much, Real Madrid.”
